United Nations Global Compact

Signing of the United Nations Global Compact

The UN Global Compact (UNGC) (別窓で開く) is a voluntary initiative under which each company and organization participates in the development of a global framework for participants to act as good members of society and realize sustainable growth by demonstrating creative, responsible leadership.

In June 2021, PARK24 GROUP signed the United Nations Global Compact. We also participate in the UN Global Compact Network Japan, a local network in Japan of the UNGC, participating in subcommittees covering the supply chain, human rights due diligence, and environmental, social, and business governance. Moving forward, we will support the ten principles in four fields: human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. We promote initiatives in each of these fields.  

The Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact

Human rights
Human rights Principle 1 Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2 make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labor
Labor Principle 3 Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4 the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
Principle 5 the effective abolition of child labour; and
Principle 6 the elimination of discrimination in respect to employment and occupation.
The Environment
The Environment Principle 7 Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
Principle 8 undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
Principle 9 encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Corruption prevention
Corruption prevention Principle 10 Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) list 17 goals and 169 targets to stay within the Earth's limits, to end poverty, and to allow anyone to live a life of dignity and equal opportunity by 2030. The SDGs identify global priority issues and their ideal. The Group is making progress with its businesses and activities by associating materiality with SDGs as a transportation infrastructure service company, while also making SDGs widespread to promote the Group's businesses by focusing on its contributions to SDGs.

TCFD and TCFD Consortium

The TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) was established in December 2015 by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) at the request of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting to examine climate-related information and financial responses to climate change. The TCFD held discussions, aiming to establish recommendations to promote the effective disclosure of information that is consistent, comparable, reliable, and clear to encourage investors to make appropriate investment decisions on factors related to climate change. They publicly released their recommendations in June 2017. The Group endorsed TCFD recommendations in December 2021, and discloses information in line with the TCFD's recommended disclosure framework. The Group also participates in the TCFD Consortium, and suitably gathers information as a member company.

CDP

The CDP, an international non-profit organization headquartered in London, UK that takes on environment-related issues including climate change, surveys and evaluates corporate efforts to implement measures for climate change and greenhouse gas emissions reduction in overall supply chains. The Group has responded to CDP since 2017.

External recognition

FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index

FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index(別窓で開く) is created by FTSE Russell, part of the London Stock Exchange Group, and reflects the performance of Japanese companies that excel in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance relative to other companies in each sector. The Group has been selected as a component of the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index for 2023. This index has also been selected as one of the ESG composite indexes of Japanese stocks selected by the General Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) in 2022.

Nikkei Smart Work Management Survey (3-star certification)

The Nikkei Smart Work Management Survey has been conducted by Nikkei Inc. since 2017 and is a system to evaluate leading companies that are taking on the challenge of a productivity revolution through work style reform. The Nikkei Smart Work Management Survey is a five-star rating system that evaluates companies' efforts to maximize organizational performance through the following three elements: the realization of diverse and flexible work styles, a system for creating new businesses, and the ability to develop new markets. Our group was awarded 3 stars in the 7th Nikkei Smart Work Management Survey.

Eruboshi Certification

Companies that have established and submitted a general employer action plan and who meet certain criteria, such as excellent implementation of initiatives aimed at promoting women's active engagement, can apply to receive certification (Eruboshi Certification) from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare based on the Act on the Promotion of Women's Active Engagement in Professional Life. PARK24 CO., LTD. and PARK24 BUSINESS SUPPORT CO., LTD., both Group companies, received the highest level 3-star Eruboshi Certification from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2022.

Kurumin certification

Companies that have established and submitted a general employer action plan, have reached goals defined in the plan, and who meet certain criteria can apply to receive certification (Kurumin Certification) from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare as companies that support child raising based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children. Five Group companies, including PARK24 CO., LTD., received Kurumin Certification in 2023 in recognition of both widespread use of a series of support systems and various initiatives.

Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization

The Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations certification program was founded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Enterprises and other legal entities engaging in particularly outstanding health and productivity management activities, including initiatives in line with local health-related issues and health improvement activities led by the Nippon Kenko Kaigi, can apply to receive certification. In recognition of the Group's health and productivity management initiatives, seven Group companies, including PARK24 CO., LTD., received the certification for five years in a row from 2020.

Sports Yell Company

Companies that are actively engaged in the promotion of sports activities for the health and productivity management of employees can receive Sports Yell Company certification from the Japan Sports Agency. In recognition of the Group's initiatives to promote sports activities, seven Group companies, including PARK24 CO., LTD., received the certification for three years in a row from 2022.
